Who, where and when

On 2 July 2025, Hackett London ran a coffee-cart activation at The Cabot, 25 Cabot Square, Canary Wharf. Hackett supplied its own cart. Pearl Lemon Catering ran the drinks around it: a full coffee menu plus hot and iced matcha, from 08:00 to 14:00.

This page covers the July activation only. Hackett’s June 2025 morning coffee at Hanover Square was a separate booking with its own case study.

What made this brief hard

One barista, six hours and a public space. The plan allowed for up to 600 drinks, so equipment, stock and queue management all had to work for a single operator. The site had no plumbed water, and the estate has its own access rules.

Who did what

  • Hackett: the cart, the location and the wider campaign.
  • Pearl Lemon Catering: one trained barista, arriving at 07:00 to set up, plus the equipment, ingredients, disposables, transport, insurance and risk assessment documents, and collection after service.

Menu and equipment

Guests could order espresso, Americano, latte, cappuccino and flat white, as well as hot and iced matcha. Milk options were dairy, oat and lactose-free, with flavour syrups and dustings. Branded 8oz cups, stirrers and napkins were part of the brief. The espresso machine and grinder were chosen because they run without a plumbed water supply, and matcha equipment was added to the same setup.

Outcome

Pearl Lemon ran the coffee and matcha service from Hackett’s cart for the six-hour window. The 600 figure was the planned allowance; we do not publish a served total.

Planning a coffee cart activation

  • Tell us whose cart or counter is being used, and its size.
  • Confirm water and power, or plan for equipment that needs neither plumbing nor much power.
  • Agree a drinks allowance and the service window.
  • Check estate or landlord access and paperwork rules.
  • Decide branded or plain cups, and who supplies the artwork.

Questions buyers ask

Can you run coffee and matcha from a brand's own cart?

Yes. At The Cabot, 25 Cabot Square, Canary Wharf, on 2 July 2025 Hackett supplied the cart and Pearl Lemon ran the drinks service around it, including hot and iced matcha alongside a full coffee menu.

Do you need a plumbed water supply?

No. For Hackett the espresso machine and grinder were chosen to run without a plumbed water supply, which matters in temporary public spaces. The package also covered matcha equipment, transport, insurance and risk assessment documents.

How many drinks can one barista handle?

Hackett's brief set one trained barista for a 08:00 to 14:00 service window, with a planned allowance of up to 600 drinks. That was the agreed allowance, not a count served. Equipment, stock and queue planning were sized for a single-barista setup.

What milk and menu options were available?

Espresso, Americano, latte, cappuccino, flat white and hot and iced matcha, with dairy, oat and lactose-free milks, flavour syrups and finishing dustings. Branded 8oz cups, stirrers and napkins were specified in the brief.
