Office Breakfast or Working Lunch? Choosing Office Catering

Office breakfast or working lunch

Two formats, two very different outcomes. Which one you pick should follow the agenda, not the budget.

Office breakfast

  • Use it for: early starts, all-hands meetings, workshops that run through lunch, and days where you want people in the building before 9am.
  • Serve: pastries and fruit alone will not hold a room to midday. Add a protein – eggs, shakshuka, or a hot filled roll – and proper coffee.
  • Timing: set up 30 minutes before the start; people eat in the first 20 minutes and then stop.
  • Cost: from GBP 18 per head.

Working lunch

  • Use it for: client meetings, training days and any session that runs past 1pm.
  • Serve: food that can be eaten one-handed over a laptop. Sandwiches, wraps, substantial salads and one hot item. Avoid anything that needs cutting.
  • Timing: deliver and set 15 minutes before the break so nobody loses meeting time.
  • Cost: from GBP 22 per head.

Getting either one right

  • Confirm dietary requirements at booking, not on the day – see our allergen and dietary policy.
  • Label every dish. It saves the organiser answering questions all morning.
  • Order for the number in the room, not the number invited. Our quantities guide has the per-head numbers.
  • Book at least 48 hours ahead where you can – that is our standard lead time.
