Pearl Lemon Catering caters events where guests have allergies, intolerances and religious or lifestyle dietary requirements at almost every booking. This page sets out exactly how we handle them.
The 14 declarable allergens
UK food information law requires allergen information for celery, cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, lupin, milk, molluscs, mustard, tree nuts, peanuts, sesame, soybeans and sulphur dioxide/sulphites. We provide a written allergen matrix for every dish on your menu before the event, and dish labelling on buffets, grazing tables and canape service on request.
Diets we cater as standard
- Halal and kosher menus, sourced from certified suppliers
- Vegan and vegetarian menus built as their own dishes, not as substitutions
- Gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-free menus
- Low-sugar, low-salt and other medical or preference-led requirements on request
How we handle severe allergies
- Tell us at quote stage, and again with your final numbers 5 working days before the event.
- Affected guests’ dishes are prepared separately, with dedicated equipment and a documented handover to the service team.
- Individually plated and labelled portions are provided for named guests where you ask for them.
- Our kitchens do handle nuts, gluten, dairy, sesame and other major allergens, so we cannot claim a completely allergen-free environment. We tell you the honest risk rather than guess.
Food safety behind the policy
Preparation, storage, transport and service follow HACCP-based procedures with temperature control and logging at every stage. Catering staff hold Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene certification. More detail is on our credentials, insurance and food safety page.
