A social evening built around making coffee
The Together Collective commissioned a Halloween-themed latte-art workshop for a residential/community gathering in west London on 10 October 2025. The format was not an ordinary coffee cart: guests were to take part in making and decorating their own drinks, using seasonal designs and guided techniques. The agreed working brief planned a 90-minute activity for about 20 participants.
The challenge of a hands-on format
Interactive hospitality needs more space and equipment than serving drinks from behind a counter. Participants need room to watch the instructor, practise with milk or alternatives and move away with their drinks without obstructing the next guest. The host also needs the session to start and finish as part of a wider social programme.
The Silver workshop programme
The booked Silver-format proposal included a professional barista educator, espresso and milk equipment, jugs, frothers and latte-art tools. Halloween-themed stencils and styling made the session distinctive. Ingredients were planned to cover coffee alongside plant-based milks and flavour options. Suggested drinks included pumpkin-spiced, matcha and caramel-based lattes; these are illustrative choices in the final planning brief, not a measured list of what each guest ordered.
Equipment and venue logistics
The October event brief records power sockets near the proposed workstation, a water dispenser in the same room, an advance setup window, venue parking subject to registration and an on-site venue contact. These details matter because espresso equipment needs suitable power, and an instructor should not lose session time finding water, moving furniture or working out where guests queue.
The engagement
The Together Collective came back to Pearl Lemon after a separate bubble-tea workshop in August 2025. The Halloween session went ahead as booked. The planning brief sets out the intended activities rather than a final attendance or drinks tally, so no coffee count is given here, and the host's wider programme is not attributed to Pearl Lemon.
What a buyer should take from it
A strong workshop brief names the format, duration, maximum group, number of instructors, equipment requirements and the difference between demonstration and guest practice. For team socials and residential events, ask whether the aim is learning, entertainment or refreshments: the right staffing and room layout follow from that choice.
Frequently asked questions
Do guests make their own drinks during the workshop?
That can be the focus of an interactive latte-art session. Confirm whether attendees have individual practice time or are watching a guided demonstration, because this affects equipment, staffing and group size.
Can you make a latte-art workshop Halloween themed?
Yes. Seasonal stencils, menu ideas and simple table styling can be discussed. Any décor, ingredients or extra experiences must be explicitly included in the agreed package.
How much space and power is needed?
Espresso equipment requires a suitable power supply and safe working space. The exact floor plan, water provision and access restrictions should be checked with the venue before confirming the equipment.
Can you provide dairy-free drinks?
Plant-based milks such as oat, almond and soy can be considered, with allergen handling confirmed for the final ingredients. Milk performance for latte art varies by product.
How many people can join a 90-minute session?
The referenced brief planned for 20 people, but that is not a universal capacity. The group size depends on whether each participant must use a machine, instructor count, venue layout and time available.
Is the workshop suitable for a corporate social or resident community event?
Yes. The interactive format can suit team socials, resident programmes and brand experiences; the organiser should agree whether the host or Pearl Lemon supplies invitations, venue staff, guest registration and wider event production.
