The brief

Statkraft arranged an internal Ramadan Iftar for colleagues at its 22 Bishopsgate office on Tuesday 17 March 2026. The food had to be ready before colleagues broke their fast, in a self-service format that did not need the office organiser to supervise anything during the evening.

Why timing mattered

The office is on the 19th floor of a major City tower. Loading access, security, lift travel and the final walk to the buffet all affect whether food arrives at the right temperature and on time. An Iftar cannot simply move later if a vehicle is delayed, so the plan had to absorb those steps. The brief also required halal meat, vegetarian dishes and clear allergen information.

The menu

The agreed menu included chicken shawarma, chicken kabsa rice and vegetable tagine, with Arabic salad and warm flatbreads. Desserts were baklava, filled dates and fruit. Pearl Lemon recommended a buffet drop-off rather than staffed table service, keeping the evening simple while meeting the core need: a shared meal ready at the right moment.

Planning backwards from sunset

With colleagues arriving around 5:45pm, the team planned for access checks, unloading, the lift and presentation before the first guest arrived, rather than treating that time as a delivery slot. Loading arrangements, food holding, serving utensils, waste and an on-site contact were all agreed beforehand, along with which items would arrive ready to serve.

How it went

Pearl Lemon’s team followed up after the event and reported that the delivery and setup ran smoothly.

What organisers can take from it

For Ramadan workplace events, guest count is only one measure of complexity. Understanding the timing, dietary expectations and building restrictions well enough to solve them in advance is what makes a compact office Iftar feel like a well-run event rather than an uncertain food delivery.

Questions buyers ask

Can you cater an office Iftar so food is ready before sunset?

Yes. For Statkraft's Iftar at 22 Bishopsgate on 17 March 2026 the team planned backwards from sunset, allowing for access checks, unloading, the lift to the 19th floor and presentation before colleagues arrived around 5:45pm.

Is the Iftar menu halal?

Yes. The brief required halal meat, vegetarian dishes and clear allergen information. The agreed menu included chicken shawarma, chicken kabsa rice and vegetable tagine with Arabic salad and warm flatbreads, followed by baklava, filled dates and fruit.

Do we need waiting staff for an office Iftar?

Not always. For Statkraft Pearl Lemon recommended a buffet drop-off rather than staffed table service, keeping the evening simple while making sure the shared meal was ready at the right moment. We can advise which model suits your numbers and space.

What should we send to plan a workplace Iftar?

Send the date, building and floor, loading and security arrangements, expected numbers, the time colleagues will break their fast and any dietary needs beyond halal. Name an on-site contact so holding, utensils and waste can be agreed beforehand.
